About this product
The Cantor One is Auréau’s reference open-back: a 50mm biocellulose driver in a machined aluminium baffle, damped with wool felt rather than foam so the treble does not soften as the pads age. Every unit is measured on a standardised coupler before it is boxed and ships with its own response plot, which is the point of buying a reference headphone rather than a tuned one.
The cups detach with a quarter turn. Drivers, pads, headband strap and cable are all sold separately and can be changed with a hex key — Auréau commits to stocking them for ten years from the last production run. The open back means it leaks in both directions: this is a headphone for a quiet room, not an office.

Would buy again
Ordered on a Tuesday and it was here Thursday. Setup was straightforward and the documentation actually covered the thing I got stuck on.

No complaints at all
Three months in and no change in how it performs. That is really the whole review — it has not developed a fault, a squeak or a loose part.

Arrived two days early and packed properly. Everything on the listing matched what turned up, including the parts I half expected to be marketing.

Genuinely well made
Packaging was minimal and recyclable, which I appreciated. The product itself is well finished and the instructions were clear enough that I did not need to look anything up.

Better than I expected
I bought this after reading the specification twice and it is accurate. The finish is even, nothing rattles, and the weight is what was stated rather than what was hoped for.
